French Bred Winner Odds
French bred horses had not managed to provide a winner of the Grand National since 1909 until 2009 when Mon Mome was a shock winner of the race. This means people will have to stop writing off French breds, especially as the above results show they often perform well in the race even when they don't win. Many people have dismissed French breds as horses with not enough stamina to win a Grand National. Between 1998 and 2007 there were six French breds that placed in the Grand National and French breds have also accounted for several winners and even more placed horses in the Welsh, Irish and Scottish Grand Nationals. This would suggest there is no shortage of stamina across the Channel. French Breds have a fair record in the Grand National but had simply failed to get their head in front until 2009. It is very rare that at least one French bred doesn't finish well and four out of the first seven horses in 2009 being French bred suggests they might actually be favoured from now on! 2010 French Bred ContendersThe 2009 winner, Mon Mome, is likely to be a popular runner as a previous winner of the race.
